For large facilities running high-value production environments, the result is a stronger control platform with more processing power, better system visibility, improved reliability, and the same proven on-demand control strategy that helps reduce dust collection energy use.

Deliveries begin at the end of May 2026. Despite a 300% increase in computer component costs, greenBOX Master Block #2 is being offered at the same price as the previous Block #1 model.

What is the Ecogate greenBOX Master?

greenBOX Master | Manage multiple systems and control up to 225 Smart Gates
greenBOX Master | Manage multiple dust collection systems & control up to 225 Smart Gates

The greenBOX Master is Ecogate’s high-end control unit for large on-demand industrial ventilation systems. It can manage up to 225 gates across many dust, fume, and mist collection systems, giving large facilities one central platform for controlling airflow based on real-time demand.

In a conventional dust collection system, the fan typically runs at full speed regardless of how many workstations are actually active. This wastes energy because the system is designed for maximum airflow even when only a portion of the facility needs extraction.

An Ecogate-equipped system works differently. Workstation Activity Sensors detect when machines are active. Smart Gates open only where airflow is needed. The greenBOX continuously communicates with gates, sensors, VFDs, and other devices so the fan speed can adjust to match real-time demand.

This on-demand approach reduces unnecessary airflow while maintaining proper transport velocities throughout the duct system. For large industrial facilities, that combination is critical: reduce wasted fan energy without compromising dust collection performance.

The greenBOX Master is designed for facilities that need large-scale control capacity, advanced monitoring, and reliable operation across complex ventilation systems.

greenBOX Master uses new Intel N97 processor (3x more powerful) while using same power

greenBOX Master Block #2 uses the Intel Processor N97, delivering up to three times the processing performance of the previous greenBOX Master computer while maintaining the same power consumption.

The Intel Processor N97 is built on Intel 7 Alder Lake-N architecture. It is a 12-watt, 4-core processor with clock speeds up to 3.6 GHz, a 6 MB cache, DDR5 memory support, and integrated Intel UHD Graphics.

That processing headroom matters because the greenBOX Master is responsible for far more than opening and closing gates. A large Ecogate system may simultaneously manage hundreds of Smart Gates, Workstation Activity Sensors, VFDs, Modbus devices, pressure readings, airflow readings, alarms, dashboards, data logging, and system-wide analytics.

The faster processor gives Block #2 more capacity for real-time control and provides room for future software improvements as the Adelie platform continues to develop.

To support longer component life, the computer uses an open-design architecture that improves cooling efficiency. The hardware is protected by an Ecogate-designed shield with a dedicated power button and dedicated indicators for power and disk activity.

• 24V DC outputs based on the LPS, or Limited Power Source, safety standard

• Outputs for two PWM-controlled cooling fans with sensor-based speed monitoring and adjustable start-cooling temperature thresholds

• Expanded programmable relay contacts, including two normally open relays and two selectable normally open or normally closed relays

• Dedicated buzzer output alongside the existing status light outputs

• 24V DC gate power supply outputs with adjustable current limits and time delays

• New onboard LED indicators for 24V DC power status and PC communication

• Upgraded 24V DC power connectors with easier-to-use lever-style terminals

Standardizing these components across the Ecogate product family, including the Dust Collector Interface line, helps reduce costs, simplify wiring procedures, and increase production efficiency.

User-Programmable Inputs and Outputs

One of the most practical features of the modern greenBOX platform is the ability to program digital inputs and relay outputs through intuitive listbox programming.

This gives customers flexible site-specific control without custom PLC work. Ecogate customers have already used programmable I/O for winter mode operation, security inputs, filter warnings, fan pressure monitoring, minimum and maximum pressure alerts, insufficient air volume alarms, and other application-specific logic.

Every facility has unique requirements. Programmable I/O lets the greenBOX adapt cleanly to those requirements.

Redundant 24V DC Power Supply Architecture

greenBOX Master | With redundant 24V DC power supply architecture
greenBOX Master | With redundant 24V DC power supply architecture

A major reliability improvement in greenBOX Master Block #2 is the redundant 24V DC power supply architecture.

The system incorporates four Mean Well SDR-480-24P industrial power supplies configured in two parallel pairs. Together, they provide 960W at 24V DC for daisy-chained gates, with peak power capacity of 1,440W.

This architecture is modeled after high-reliability computer server systems. If one power supply fails, EcogateOS detects the issue and alerts the user immediately. The remaining power supplies continue carrying the load, allowing the greenBOX to keep operating while maintenance personnel schedule replacement.

For large production facilities, this is an important resilience feature. The goal is not only to detect a power supply issue, but to prevent that issue from immediately disrupting dust collection control.

New Schaffner Power Entry Module with Fuses and EMI Filter

greenBOX Master Block #2 includes a new Schaffner FN9260 power entry module with an IEC C14 socket for a standard C13 power cable.

The module includes an electromagnetic interference filter and two integrated 5 mm × 20 mm fuses. The integrated fuses are required for optional UL certification. The EMI filter helps reduce electrical noise from VFDs, motors, and other industrial equipment in the facility.

For electrically active industrial environments, this is a practical improvement for reliability and certification readiness.

Software Improvements: DataMining, Modbus Monitoring, and Airflow Calibration

greenBOX DataMining V1

greenBOX DataMining V1 page

greenBOX Master Block #2 also benefits from major software improvements introduced across the Adelie greenBOX family.

Built-In DataMining for Energy and System Visibility

The built-in DataMining page lets users view charts and monitor key system metrics directly from the greenBOX interface, including:

• Energy savings and overall system utilization

• VFD power consumption

• Fan and filter pressure levels

• Workstation utilization in 5-minute intervals

This data helps facility managers, maintenance teams, and energy managers answer practical questions:

  • How much energy is the system saving?

  • Which workstations are used most frequently?

  • Is filter pressure increasing over time?

  • Is the dust collection system performing as designed?

All metrics are available for download as CSV files covering the previous 12 months. This is useful for internal energy reporting, utility incentive documentation, and performance benchmarking.

Shift Times for More Accurate Savings Calculations

The software also includes a shift times option to improve savings calculations. For facilities with defined production schedules, shift-based settings help align energy savings reporting with actual operating patterns.

That is especially useful in large plants where production schedules, shift structures, and workstation usage vary across departments or systems.

Improved Modbus Device Monitoring

New Ecogate software Monitoring page

Modbus device monitoring page

A new Monitoring page shows all devices connected to each Modbus port, along with communication quality, power supply voltage, current, and power readings.

This visibility is valuable during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Instead of guessing whether a connected device is communicating correctly, technicians can see device status directly from the greenBOX interface.

The same page provides access to adjustable settings, including start-cooling temperature thresholds, electronic fuse current limits, and fuse time delay settings for gate power supply circuits.

Automatic Airflow Calibration Tools

The Adelie platform includes automatic calibration tools for air velocities at gates, branches, and system-wide levels.

A dedicated setup page displays air velocities, air volumes, and pressures sorted by duct zone, with color coding to quickly communicate airflow status:

• Green: airflow is at proper design air volume

• Orange: airflow is too low

• Blue: airflow is too high

For on-demand dust collection systems, airflow calibration is critical. The system must reduce airflow when demand is low while still maintaining proper transport velocities and capture airflow where required. Better calibration tools make that balance easier to achieve and verify.

Support for Ecogate Precision Airflow Gates

greenBOX Master Block #2 supports Ecogate Precision Airflow Gates as adjustable bleed gates and signal-controlled devices.

Unlike standard open/closed gates, Precision Airflow Gates can adjust blade position in small increments between fully closed and fully open. They can be controlled by measured signals such as pressure, air velocity, air volume, and temperature.

This is especially useful in pharmaceutical facilities, laboratories, and similar environments where minimum airflow must be maintained continuously, even when normal workstation demand is low.

Block #2 Carries Forward Key Enclosure Improvements

Several important enclosure and installation improvements continue with greenBOX Master Block #2.

These improvements include stronger cooling, easy-clean filters, predrilled conduit holes, streamlined wall mounting, distinctive Ecogate industrial design, and integrated QR codes for faster access to support resources.

More Powerful Cooling with Easy-Clean Filters

The greenBOX Master Block #2 uses enhanced cooling with redesigned air inlet and outlet filters. The filters are easy to remove, clean, and reinstall, helping maintain cooling performance in dusty industrial environments.

The cooling air inlet is integrated into the enclosure using Ecogate’s signature hexagonal design. Better cooling supports longer component life, especially in warm facilities or high-duty operating environments.

Predrilled Holes for Conduit Connectors

The greenBOX Master includes four predrilled holes for ¾-inch conduit connectors. When not in use, these holes are sealed with silicone plugs.

Important installation note: the greenBOX Master enclosure is not designed to be used as an electrical panel. Do not drill additional holes for conduit connectors. Metal shavings can cause shorts in the power supply, interface board, or NUC computer motherboard. Creating additional holes in the cabinet will automatically void the greenBOX warranty.

Streamlined Wall Mounting

The wall mount system makes installation faster and cleaner. Because it does not require drilling into the greenBOX cabinet, the enclosure remains dust-proof.

The mount also creates a gap between the wall and the unit, improving airflow around the enclosure and supporting better cooling performance.

The Ecogate Design Style

The greenBOX product family features Ecogate’s distinctive industrial design by David Vera. The bold green enclosure, front-facing layout, hexagonal cooling pattern, and detailed labeling make the system recognizable on the factory floor.

Industrial control equipment does not need to look like a plain gray box. The greenBOX makes Ecogate technology visible, organized, and easy to identify in industrial environments.

Integrated QR Codes for Online Resources

Each greenBOX includes QR codes that link directly to Ecogate’s online resources, including how-to guides, installation videos, setup documentation, and product support materials.

This gives technicians access to the right resource while standing in front of the equipment, without searching for manuals or calling support for routine setup questions.

Same Price as Block #1

Despite a 300% increase in computer component costs since the previous greenBOX Master was released, Ecogate’s increased production volume makes it possible to offer greenBOX Master Block #2 at the same price as Block #1.

For facilities planning a large on-demand control system, upgrading an existing installation, or replacing a legacy greenBOX Master, Block #2 delivers substantially more capability for the same investment.

A Stronger Upgrade Path for Large Facilities
