Ecogate History

A dust collection problem became an airflow control idea.

Ecogate began in 1997, when co-founder Petr Litomisky developed the first Ecogate automatic blast gate after seeing how conventional dust collection systems wasted energy in a Hollywood woodworking shop.

The idea was simple and practical: open airflow only where work is happening, close idle branches automatically, and stop treating every workstation as if it needs full suction all day.

From automatic gates to complete on-demand control

In 2001, Ecogate completed its first industrial on-demand dust collection installation, supported by Southern California Edison because of the energy savings potential.

Since then, Ecogate has grown from automatic blast gates into coordinated systems that include Smart Gates, greenBOX controls, Power Master VFD control, analytics, commissioning, and engineering services.

North Hollywood roots, Global industrial reach

From its North Hollywood headquarters, Ecogate now supports manufacturers across woodworking, aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, education, welding, and other industrial environments.

The company's supplier relationship with Donaldson adds another milestone to the story: Ecogate's on-demand control technology now connects with one of the best-known names in industrial filtration.
