What is a greenBOX?
The first question we need to answer is, what is a greenBOX? The greenBOX is the brain of Ecogate's On-Demand Control System for industrial ventilation, managing the entire dust collection system by controlling workstation gates, starting/stopping fans and dust collectors, and adjusting fan speed via the Power Master VFD. When paired with Smart Gates, the greenBOX collects data that is processed into actionable insights, delivered straight to your inbox, empowering you to optimize your operations and maximize efficiency.
Energy Savings Dashboard View
Our new dashboard provides users with real-time insights into their energy savings, showcasing the data in percentage relative to a baseline, kilowatt-hours (kWh), and monetary value (users can input their average electricity cost per kWh). The new greenBOX units offer a comprehensive view of energy savings across all systems, with the capability to manage multiple ventilation systems. Users can customize their view using the filter option to analyze savings over different periods.
Savings Accuracy
Accuracy in savings is ensured by the greenBOX units gathering precise fan consumption data from Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) via Modbus communication. The accuracy is validated against the ABB VFD's kW load value, which closely aligns with the HIOKI PW3198's 0.2% precision. Data is collected every second to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information.
The system also highlights the utilization rate of the ventilation system, a critical metric for understanding system and factory efficiency. This is represented both as an overall percentage and individually for each system, with a summary for all systems accessible through a timeline chart.
Understanding Data Analysis
At Ecogate, we understand the importance of detailed data analysis. That's why we've integrated a feature that allows users to download electricity consumption data into a CSV file, enabling further analysis in programs like Excel or Google Sheets. This feature provides consumption details separated by individual fans, giving you granular insights into your ventilation system's performance.
Our advanced data aggregation method calculates an average kW value from 300 one-second readings every five minutes, ensuring precise and meaningful insights. The data can be exported for all fans connected to the greenBOX, covering the last 12 months - if data is available.
