Ecogate Smart Gate Motor

Smart Gate Motor

SKU: EG.7515

Designed specifically for Ecogate Smart Systems, which use the greenBOX Nxt or greenBOX Master control units, Ecogate Smart Motors are fully compatible with both rotating blade and butterfly-style gates.

  • Product Description

Ecogate motors can be attached to rotating blade or butterfly-style gate bodies, creating fully functional Standard and Smart Gates. Typically purchased as a replacement part.

Designed to work with Ecogate Smart Systems, which use smart control units such as the greenBOX Nxt and greenBOX Master, Smart Motors are equipped with magnetic limit switches and an embedded processor with Modbus communication. They enable the reading of pressure, air velocity, and air volume at the gate, though calibration is required for air velocity and volume readings.

  • Tech Specs

Material: Zinc-plated metal (stainless-steel gates are available with Purchase Order)

    Weight (Lb): 1.9 Lb (850 g)

    Width (inch): 2.9" (73.4 mm)
    Height (inch):  3.5" (89 mm)
    Depth. (inch): 6.21" (157.8 mm)

Installation: On Ecogate gates (4-16") using the two included M5x25 mm screws and facing the limit switch slot.

    Motor Temperature Range: 14° F to 113° F (-10° C to 45° C); with Mobilgrease 28 the temperature range is from -40° F (-40° C).
    Ingress Protection (IP): IP51

Required Maintenance: A properly installed motor does not require maintenance, but once per year it is recommended to test it using the greenBOX control unit.

    Power Supply (phoenix type pluggable terminal): 24V DC, 0.03 A without gate opening/closing; during opening/closing: 0.1 A (without pressure) - 0.9 A (under 27" w.c. pressure).

Indicators: Opening = Green LED flashing, Open = Green LED, Closing = Red LED flashing, Closed = Red LED

On Board Indicators: Power, Sensor, Modbus, Error, Relay.

Modbus Terminal (phoenix type pluggable terminal): Modbus RTU over RS485, 19.2kBd, A(+), B(-) data signals; with overvoltage, and overcurrent protection.

Workstation Activity Input Terminal (phoenix type pluggable terminal): Industry standard, optically isolated input; gate board is providing 24V DC, current 10mA (output from sensor can be dry contact or NPN transistor), Normally Open contact is the default, switchable to Normally Closed (by software).

Relay Terminal (phoenix type screw terminal): The relay contact (max. 24V DC, 0.5A) can be used to connect to the workstation PLC to confirm that gate is open or ventilation is active (relay function is selectable via software).

  • User Guide

    To Re-install New Motor

    1. Check the position of the D-shaped shaft on the motor, and rotate it to match the position of the gear on the gate.
    2. Install the motor shaft to the gear hole, and slightly rotate the motor until the D-shaft sits properly in the gear. Make sure to align the limit switch magnet to the rectangular slot on the gate.
    3. Fix the motor to the gate body using the two included 8 mm hex screws.
    4. Install the pressure reading hose to the barb fitting screwed on the gate. (Smart Gates).
    5. Remember to test the gate.
