Description

The new Ecogate VOLT sensor adds to our portfolio of sensors compatible with Ecogate systems. Unlike the CLIP sensor which reads the magnetic field of any cable, the VOLT sensor reads any AC or DC voltage. The VOLT sensor can be activated by any voltage in the range from 12V to 400V AC or DC (any polarity) – for example you can connect the sensor in parallel to the contactor coil, the power switch, the motor, or the PLC output – the possibilities are endless. The output is designed to be connected directly to an Ecogate smart gate EG2xxSRL or to a greenBOX ONE/12/24 (polarity is independent).

Specifications

  1. Input voltage: 12 – 400 V AC or DC; input is protected by fuse T 250 mA (input current at 18 V AC is 1 mA, at 115V AC is 2 mA, at 230V 2.3 mA, at 24V DC 1.5 mA)
  2. Output: direct connection to Ecogate smart gate EG2xxSRL or to greenBOX ONE/12/24
  3. Indicators: Input, Output (red LED)
  4. Dimensions: 1.75" x 1.25" x 0.75" (45mm x 30mm x 15 mm) without wires
  5. Weight: 0.8 oz (with wires)

Input and output are optically insulated (2,500 Vrms)

Where to use the VOLT sensor: inside a electrical distribution box (where a CLIP sensor can read a false signal caused by a transformer, contactor coil, etc). The VOLT sensor must be installed by a licensed electrician (because it can be connected to high voltage).

Where to use the CLIP sensor: on workstations with one motor; the advantage is fast & easy installation, without an electrical connection to workstation.
